Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has issued a statement in response to the club's guilty verdict issued by the top-flight this week.
The Premier League announced on Tuesday afternoon that Manchester City had been found guilty of all charges related to breaches of Premier League financial rules between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons.
As part of a wide-ranging statement, it was confirmed that independent commission found that, during that period, City had arranged "sham contracts" whilst "relying on sham agreements to artificially inflate the club's revenues and reduce its costs".
Those "sham" commercial deals were described as being part of a "disguised funding scheme" to the scale of £830.69 million, with City recording £360 million in sponsor fees in the three seasons they won the Premier League - 2011/12, 2013/14, and 2017/18.
Official statements from the club themselves and key figures such as CEO Ferran Soriano continue to deny any wrongdoing in relation to the Premier League's case, and the English top-flight giants now have until 2 October to submit an appeal.
Pep Guardiola issues statement responding to Man City guilty verdict
Now, in a statement issued across the Catalan's social media channels, former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has issued a heartfelt message of support to his previous club and all those associated, including fans and former colleagues.
"I want every single Manchester City fan across the world to know I am here; more than ever," wrote Guardiola.
He continued, "I am, always have been, always will, be behind my club, my owner, my chairman [Khaldoon Al Mubarak], Ferran [Soriano], the players, staff, Enzo [Maresca] and you, our unique supporters."
Guardiola concluded, "Let me be clear: we will get through this together.
"I love you all."
What have Man City officials said in response to the verdict?
In the immediate aftermath of the Premier League's statement, Manchester City themselves issued comment on their official club website stating, "Manchester City FC is both disappointed and surprised by the opinion of the Premier League Commission, that has been published today.
"The Club is innocent of the accusations made by the Premier League and a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence exists in support of all of its positions, relating to this case.
"The Club will therefore be relentless, and where necessary proactive, in any and all appropriate regulatory and legal forums.
"The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements uncompleted.
"Manchester City FC will now pursue the appeal avenues open to it, on the basis that the opinion contains clear material errors, of law, principle and fact, and is unsafe.
"The Club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis that the Premier League Board and Executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence.
"The Club is obviously restricted in what it can say further until all future proceedings are complete."
A video message was also issued to club staff by chief executive officer Ferran Soriano in which he criticised a "Premier League conspiracy theory" and insisted Manchester City would be "vindicated".
