Ahead of preseason game number two, the Chicago Blackhawks made some training camp roster decisions.

On Monday, the Chicago Blackhawks made some decisions on roster cuts during training camp. 9 of their players have been sent to the Rockford IceHogs to begin AHL camp.

The following players were loaned to the IceHogs:

  • F Gavin Hayes
  • F Paul Ludwinski
  • F Samuel Savoie
  • D Ashton Cumby
  • D Jake Furlong
  • D Taige Harding
  • G Stanislav Berezhnoy
  • G Adam Gajan

There is also defenseman Cavan Fitzgerald, who was released from his NHL PTO so he can be sent to Rockford as well. All 9 of these guys are going to be regulars in the IceHogs lineup as they look to further their pro careers. On paper, it is shaping up to be a playoff-caliber AHL squad.

Chicago’s camp roster is now down to 38 players. That includes 24 forwards, 11 defensemen, and 3 goalies. The Hawks will use an all-NHL lineup against the Minnesota Wild on Monday night, but they have options for the final two preseason games - a home-and-home series with the St. Louis Blues.
